How to Grow Your List Using Facebook Live:7 Best Tips

Do you have a plan for building your email list?

And is Facebook Live part of that plan?

If your answer to either of these questions is a big fat NO, you’re throwing away a TON of money!

In this article, I share why you need an email list, and how you can use Facebook Live to grow your list way faster than you think possible.

Here’s How to Use Facebook Live for List Building:

1.Be Consistent

As content marketers, we know the importance of consistency in our efforts. Consistency builds routines which ultimately creates expectations–you have to build this relationship with your audience to be successful.

2.Get Interactive with Your Audience

One thing that live video offers that other forms of content do not is live interactivity.

Even though your viewers can’t talk back to you on Facebook, there are other ways they can interact with you. They can like, share, react and comment on your content in real time.

Ignite more engagement from your viewers by welcoming them, pausing to take their questions, laughing at funny comments and asking them to share.

In a nutshell, make your live videos a collective effort from you and your viewers.

A highly engaged audience is more likely to take any action you ask of them. With an engaged audience, you can expect a higher conversation rate for your email sign-ups.

3.Show Your Personality

You’re live–so there are no edits. This is your opportunity to show your audience you’re a real person and not a faceless brand. Having a great sense of humor is always a plus, but people ultimately respect what they perceive as genuine. In other words, be yourself and people will appreciate that.

It’s best to keep things natural and effortless. You can make a live video anywhere from you relaxing on the beach to your normal office set up.

Don’t make things superficial. There’s too much fake news in the world right now.

If your viewers like your personality, they are more likely to hang out with your often in your live videos and eventually take up your offers.

4.Hold a Live Q&A Session

Take advantage of the live nature of this tool by gathering experts and getting your followers involved in speaking to them. A video streaming Q & A with some recognizable names is an amazing way to connect with the people on your page. You can build some hype, and get people to keep an eye on your profile for more in the future.

Conferences are a great opportunity to do this. Find out who will be attending one you are planning to go to and send them a quick message by email or social media. See if they would be willing to take 20 minutes out of a conference for a quick live stream. You could fit several into one weekend.

5.Bring the Event to the Viewer

Speaking of conferences, why not live stream an event that they otherwise aren’t able to get to? If you are holding a lecture, have someone stream it on Facebook as it happens. Walk around the expo floor sharing the latest and greatest from global brands that are being unveiled. Stop and speak to people who might be of interest, like booth operators and other attendees.

Just imagine taking your followers behind the scenes at E3, or a Microsoft event. The number of views both during and after would be insane.

6.Share Your Opinion On Facebook Live

After you’ve done the asking a question in a group, perhaps it’s you sharing the answers that you got from the group to your question and give a tip in relation to that.

Still, you’re not asking for subscribers, you’re not asking for a sale, but you’re going from asking a question and getting people to answer you to you delivering some value without having the pressure of having a call to action.

7.Grow Your List Or Make An Offer With Facebook Live

From there, you’ll step into having a call to action to subscribe to your list in return for a great freebie or you might present an offer.

Probably the biggest thing to keep in mind as you’re stepping through this process is when we go live on Facebook, people know we’re live. We don’t get to practice our message so they’re not expecting perfect.

My advice to you is have a go in private on the personal profile, ‘only me.’ Then have a go in a ‘safe’ place and step your way through making offers.
